It became the 14th United World College among the 18 schools and colleges now established in the global education movement. The Founders’ aim was to bring the transformational power of education to young people from diverse geographies, cultures and backgrounds. They envisaged creating a school that combines the best practices of today’s education and embodies the future of education.

  • Ascham School - Thursday 12th November 10:30AM (AEST)
Since 1887 boarding has played a significant role in the development of Ascham. It promotes lifelong friendships within a very special community, one that is right at the heart of the School.

For boarders, the School is their home and the focus of their learning, creating a wonderful sense of community for the boarders and for every girl in the School.

Girls learn to live harmoniously with one another in a respectful and caring community and enjoy a supervised academic program as well as a comprehensive weekend activity program.
When our girls graduate they are enriched with the memories of their experiences, and the strong friendships they develop remain dear to them throughout their lives.

Overview of Learning in Residence

Wesley College is a leading independent, coeducational, open entry, IB World School, and one of the largest schools in Australia. Established more than 150 years ago, the College has enriched the lives of thousands of students and their communities through its outstanding liberal, broad-based curriculum.

The boarding program at Wesley, called Learning in Residence, is situated onsite at the Glen Waverley Campus and is open to Years 10 to 12 students. In 2021, it will be open to Year 9 students and older.

Introduced just four years ago, the boarding program builds on more than a century of success in residential learning at Wesley with a contemporary program designed for the students of today.

Each student is recognised as an individual, and assisted to develop across the six domains of learning through favourable student-to-staff ratios, an innovative boarding curriculum and contemporary modern living facilities in domestic-style houses of eight, access to the College’s state-of-the-art sporting facilities and teaching staff.

The boarding experience at Wesley is an extension of the True Education offered at Wesley, and the wraparound approach at Learning in Residence is designed to meet each student’s individual needs as a boarder and learner, and their goals as a young person.
