St Mary's Anglican Girls School, Perth, Western Australia

Boarding Tour:

We invite you to enjoy a virtual tour of the St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School Boarding House, known as Anne Symington House. Anne attended St Mary’s as a student from 1923 – 1933, was Dux of the School in 1932 and 1933 and returned to become its Headmistress from 1965 – 1982 and resided at the school during this time. It is presently home to 181 girls from rural and regional Western Australia as well as interstate and international students. St Mary’s is a K – 12 school of 1450 students, with boarders permitted across the Year 6 – Year 12 age range. Boarders make up 20% of the Senior School population.

Presented by Tina Campbell, Head of Boarding, St Mary's Anglican Girls' School

Together with my team of dedicated boarding staff, I am committed to creating a true sense of home for the girls who board here at St Mary’s. We are a family and take our role very seriously. Each of our girls is seen as an individual, with her own set of unique abilities, personality and needs. It is our job, at Anne Symington House, to help each girl achieve her best academically.

Background:

St Joseph’s College is an independent Catholic boarding and day college for boys in Years 7-12. Located on a 16-hectare campus just six kilometres from the Sydney CBD. It combines first class facilities with a commitment to exceptional teaching, learning and pastoral care.

Since 1881 the college has provided a faith-based, boarding education for boys from across New South Wales, interstate and overseas. A number of flexible enrolment options, including day student, weekly boarding and full boarding, help fit the many different needs of families. The college maintains its very strong and successful commitment to boarding education and boarders make up just over 50 per cent of total student enrolments.

St Joseph’s provides a broad and well-balanced academic and co-curricular program, as well as a supportive, pastoral environment. Students are given opportunities, resources and encouragement to strive for excellence and achieve their full potential in all they do. All students have their own laptop computer which is utilised across the curriculum to enhance learning.
