Renee Reid has worked as a registered nurse for 28 years. She has worked in the burns unit at the Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne, the Austin and Box Hill hospital in paediatrics and the special care nursery for neonates. It has exposed her to people at their most vulnerable, and a vast array of mental health issues in both parents, adolescents and children. Renee is currently working as an Instructor with Real Response, delivering simulation based first aid training, and rescue courses for workplaces. Renee's passion is to empower others with the tools to respond to those in need, whether that be physical or mental health.
Qualifications: Bachelor applied science (nursing), certificate in paediatrics, Cert IV workplace training and assessment, Epilepsy Instructor with Epilepsy Action Australia , Mental Health First Aid Instructor.
Webinar 1: Managing Mental Health and Wellbeing During the Corona Crisis
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic Real Response’s clinicians have developed a series of online courses to assist both the general public and clinicians to navigate the wealth of available information. The content of these courses comes from well recognised sources such as the World Health Organisation and peer reviewed journals. This webinar is a summary of the research and aims to assist your understanding of Mental Wellness and useful strategies to apply. Renee will dive into what signs we should be looking for in mental health and what practical steps staff can take to help others.
