Great Southern Grammar is a not-for profit independent Christian school, drawing students from the Great Southern region and beyond.

The school’s values are integrity, respect, commitment and compassion.

  • Vision: To be a learning community in which students develop confidence, wellbeing and a sense of belonging, enabling them to achieve their goals and enhance our local and global communities.
  • Mission: To provide a first-class education built on the principles of the Christian faith and led by highly committed staff.

Located on 144 acres of pristine waterfront land between the King and Kalgan Rivers, in Albany, Western Australia, the GSG campus is as expansive as its curriculum. We offer students a richness of learning, and breadth of experiences, enabling them to uncover their strengths and passions.

GSG offers girls and boys a world of opportunity in a supportive country setting. It is more than just a school, however. It is a growing, thriving community that prospers and succeeds on the basis of the contribution of all of its members.

Residential boarding forms an important element of the school’s fabric and reputation. GSG boarding is a thriving environment with a wide range of experiences and activities on offer to enhance residential life, providing a unique opportunity to live within and contribute to the school and local communities.

Boarders live in five comfortable boarding houses located on a spacious 144-acre site, alongside the Kalgan River and Oyster Harbour waterways. Boarding houses emulate extended homes, providing a friendly, warm environment. Permanent House Parents live in each residence where they extend genuine family values to boarders. Within each residence, boarders enjoy comfortable and spacious living areas and a fully maintained kitchen. Many wonderful friendships are developed, with close bonds serving residential students well into their adult lives. We see firsthand the amazing experiences and opportunities available to GSG boarders.

Living away from home in a co-educational boarding environment helps develop students' sense of sharing and capacity to look after one another. Our aim is to make this life transition as smooth as possible for all involved. Limited places are available to ensure the school provides a quality residential experience for students.
