Founded in 1851, Scotch College is the oldest continuing secondary school in Victoria. Situated on 27 hectares beside the Yarra River in Hawthorn, the School seeks to develop boys individually to their full potential in all aspects of their personality.
Located on the School campus, three boarding houses provide high standard accommodation for 150 boarders. Students are offered a rich diversity of experiences, including an exceptional sporting program, outstanding choices in music and drama, and numerous outdoor activities.
Emphasis is placed on providing a caring environment in which boys can flourish. Students are encouraged to have high self-esteem and be self-motivated. Every effort is made to develop citizenship and personal character.
Additional counselling and care is provided through cross-age tutoring, peer support activities, house groupings, specialist support staff and, for Years 7 – 8 students, a team teaching approach.
