MLC girls become world-ready women

Methodist Ladies’ College (MLC) is one of Australia’s most successful and innovative schools - internationally recognised for its extensive curriculum choices and outstanding academic results.

At MLC young minds are inspired and students are encouraged to be independent, adventurous and resourceful. MLC is committed to providing a challenging, enriching and supportive learning environment to enable every student to reach her potential in all areas of school life.

Throughout their time at the College, Tiddeman House, MLC’s boarding house becomes a home away from home for approximately 120 boarders from regional and rural Australia and a variety of countries from around the globe.

Choosing the Tiddeman way to peruse your daughter’s academic goals opens up a world of opportunity. Students have the opening to make new friends, the freedom to socialise and plan outings, the support to develop productive study habits and the guidance to grow into the person they want to become.

Tiddeman House is a safe, caring environment that combines tradition with state-of-the-art facilities and technology. The dedicated team of Boarding staff endeavour to provide a culture that offers independence, privacy, flexibility and fun. The experience enables boarders to develop confidence and resilience, and a deeper understanding of diversity.

“I come from a Corryong, a small town in the heart of the Snowy Mountains, with a population of 1500 people, so it’s no surprise that MLC’s opportunities are impressively more than what I was used to. Before coming to MLC, I lacked self-confidence and I asked my parents do everything for me, now I don’t have the option of being shy or reliant on others. It’s a thrilling thing to be independent, to know that I am in control of my life and to know I will have the support of my family and the boarding community who, as cliché as it is, have become part of my family.”  - Eleanor, MLC Boarder

Located in Kew, only a few kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD and close to a range of public transport options, students are able to enjoy the benefits of living close to this beautiful city famous for its sporting and cultural events.

The MLC Boarding House has dedicated staff who live and work exclusively in the boarding house and are committed to providing residential care around the clock. The team work with each student to help them manage their learning and to ensure that they achieve their personal best.
