The Ballarat Grammar boarding community is prominently situated on our expansive 40 acre campus, adjacent to Lake Wendouree. As an Anglican co-educational boarding school, we cater for Years 7-12 with intakes at all year levels, and provide a safe and supportive environment in which each student strives for excellence in all aspects of life. Ballarat Grammar boarders come from country areas of Victoria and New South Wales; strong country values are central to the School’s community.

With 220 boarders across five boarding houses, our boarders live in a dynamic, family-orientated environment. Our strengths lie in offering an education that equips students for life; promoting excellence across all aspects of a student’s learning.

Living on-campus allows our boarders to make the most of the outstanding facilities: sporting, music, drama, art (including woodwork, metalwork, and fashion design). The Watersport Centre is home to comprehensive rowing and sailing programs.

The thriving agricultural program at the nearby Mt Rowan Farm Campus sees students running cattle and sheep, showing at Victorian and NSW events. Outstanding VCE results in Agricultural and Horticultural Studies include 24 Premier’s Awards.

Extensive after-school and weekend activities include boarders’ parent/child weekends, grandparents’ day, formal dinners and House dinners. These encourage families to be engaged with their child’s education. Weekly Chapel also promotes a strong sense of community.

We aim to ensure that boarders at Ballarat Grammar develop a life-long love of learning, enduring friendships and understand the importance of community life and the necessity to contribute to it.
