Launceston Church Grammar School is Australia’s oldest continually run independent school and has been giving the gift of outstanding global learners and leaders to this world since 1846. The School inspires students to be: courageous as they embrace challenges with integrity and justice; curious in exploring and examining our world; creative as they discover and design solutions for current and future challenges; and compassionate in seeking and serving the needs of our world.

We know that students and families are attracted to boarding at Launceston Grammar because of the unique atmosphere, dedicated boarding houses for male and female students from Grades 5 to 12, large recreational areas, wide-open spaces, and easy access to Senior Campus facilities.

As a boarder you will become part of a wonderful community of fellow students and staff who will make you feel welcome, secure, and included.

You will be encouraged to do your best in all the activities the School offers and to focus on your academic journey by making use of the Senior Campus Learning Hub and the expert tutoring which is available after school and of an evening.

Weekend activities are varied with boarders able to visit local tourist attractions and sporting venues, as well as spending time cooking, or simply relaxing in the School’s stunning grounds.

You will find within each boarding house a relaxed and comfortable lounge area, dedicated study spaces and student kitchen as well as a medical centre on location. There are also welcoming dining facilities where healthy meal options are provided.
