The St John’s Grammar School International Education Program has gone from strength to strength. In just six years, we have gone from eight students to 50. Our reputation is forged through hard work, a culture of care and a willingness to go above and beyond. Our Intensive English Language Program is a very attractive option and the layers of support provided, both pastorally and academically, is second to none.
In conjunction with our successful Homestay program, St John’s Grammar now offers boarding facilities on campus. Located within our International Living and Learning Precinct, our three boarding houses comprise 15 bedrooms with shared living and dining spaces in each house.
Modelled around contemporary Australian apartment-style living, the boarding houses have been designed to ensure privacy with single rooms, while also ensuring there are spaces for students to come together to study, eat and enjoy the Australian lifestyle. Set amongst a natural bushland setting, the boarding precinct is nestled among suburban Belair with tall gumtrees and a range of beautiful wildlife just outside the window. A secure and green space joins all three boarding houses to ensure students can enjoy their own backyard too.
International Students have easy access to support to ensure their success during their stay with us. As well as an International Student Coordinator located next door, International Students are supported by live-in Boarding Assistants and a Boarding Supervisor who are on hand to help with any question, concern or just to chat with. Additionally, students have access to a weekly food service by our own chef, as well as the ability to cook and prepare foods in the kitchen of their house. Helping students adjust to Australian life is a priority for us in ensuring their success and happiness while at St John’s Grammar. Broad-ranging co-curricular opportunities not only support a balanced education, but also help develop broader friendship circles and allow for the discovery of new interests and passions for International Students. Our school-wide Wellbeing Program extends to International Students and is a pivotal part in supporting their transition to Australian life and schooling.
