Townsville Grammar School is a co-educational, non-denominational school located in Townsville in North Queensland. The School accepts Pre-Kindy to Year 12 with boarding available from Year 7. The School has three campuses - Boarding is co-located with the Middle and Senior Schools - located in the seaside suburb of North Ward. Townsville Grammar School has an enviable academic record and a Pastoral Care Programme based on the Positive Education Framework.
Townsville Grammar School boarders are drawn from a wide national and international demographic. The boarding community of 150 girls and boys is an integral and important part of the School. At Townsville Grammar School, we believe that our core purpose in boarding is to care for and nurture the students who have been placed in our charge. The School strives to make residential life a positive experience for all students by providing a care system that recognises the individual and provides a caring ‘family like’ environment based on trust, co-operation and open communication.
Each boarder has a semi-private, air-conditioned area which encompasses both their sleeping and study facilities (including wireless internet). Evening studies are supervised by resident staff, with academic staff providing supporting tuition. Boarders have access to most of the School’s academic and sporting facilities outside school hours, this includes our heated 50m pool. The medical needs of boarders are met by four Registered Nurses who liaise with the School Doctors, and provide seven days a week, 24 hour on call medical care in the School Health Centre.
