A Quality Education Designed for Boys.

Toowoomba Grammar School is a non-denominational GPS School for boys set in the heart of Australia’s most beautiful provincial city. The School accepts day boys from Years Prep-12 and boarders from Years 6-12. One of the first independent secondary schools to be established in Queensland, Toowoomba Grammar School was founded in 1875. Today the average enrolment is around 1210 boys, comprising around 300 boarders and 910 dayboys.

The School’s balanced environment of discipline and innovation encourages all boys to fulfil their potential by identifying and developing their academic, sporting, cultural and social talents. The strong ethical basis of the Schools’ character – which promotes honesty, integrity and personal responsibility, is derived from a Christian Ethos. Toowoomba Grammar School’s campus covers 20.5 hectares and is located one kilometre from the centre of Toowoomba – a city of 130,000 people. Toowoomba is ideally situated on the eastern escarpment of the Great Dividing Range, the junction of five major highways and less than 1.5 hours to Brisbane and two hours from the Gold and Sunshine Coasts. This close proximity allows the School to be participants in the GPS sporting calendar.

Toowoomba Grammar School’s commitment to academic excellence is evident in annual benchmark results. Under the Queensland Senior Secondary School system, Toowoomba Grammar School boys have consistently performed far above the state average in the QCS test and the tertiary entrance Overall Position ranking. The vast majority of students in the School direct their energies into preparing for university studies but a solid programme of vocational education is also in place.
