The Rockhampton Grammar School (RGS) is Queensland’s largest boarding school. . The School is listed among the Top Country Schools in Australia and the Top Queensland Schools by The Australian.

Boarders from Years 6 to 12 comprise more than a third of the School’s Secondary School student enrolment and boarding has formed the core of RGS since its founding in 1881.

The Rockhampton Grammar School Learning Framework is tailored to the needs and goals each child and is specific to our School. At its centre is Dimensions of Learning, which seeks to synthesise the latest research and cognition and the working of the human brain whilst focused on the student as a lifelong learner. Dimensions of Learning places a strong emphasis upon the deliberate development and use of complex reasoning processes (or higher order thinking).

The School has well-appointed, specialised facilities and highly respected academic programs with subjects such as marine science, aquatics, agriculture, biology and outdoor education taught at the School’s beachfront campus and working farm. It also features an extensive Agriculture Science programme in partnership with AgForce Queensland.  Its eight hectare main campus features a new gymnasium, two sporting ovals, an Olympic size swimming pool, tennis and volleyball courts, a full-size theatre, music rooms and more as well as modern, air-conditioned boarding facilities.

Rockhampton Grammar offers dozens of co-curricular and pastoral activities from sports - such as basketball and rugby through to scuba and triathlon - to music, debating, cadets and show cattle.
