The School

As an all-girls day and boarding school, located in the education hub of Toowoomba, Queensland, The Glennie School provides a well-rounded Primary and Secondary education, framed by the Christian values within the Anglican ethos.

At Glennie, your daughter has the opportunity to become a self-assured, well-skilled young woman, ready to face the ever-changing demands of the adult world. We will encourage her to find and develop her unique talents and become All She Can Be®.

Glennie girls are educated to the highest academic standards of which they are capable with access to the latest information and communication technology at their fingertips. Girls can develop their sporting and cultural talents through rich, diverse and relevant programs involving, a wide variety of competitive and social sport as well as music, performance, drama and fine arts.  Glennie girls are challenged and encouraged in many areas: intellectual, physical, cultural, social and spiritual.

Boarding

With the best boarding accommodation in picturesque Toowoomba, Glennie is a 1.5 hour drive South East of Brisbane and now only a 2.5 hour flight direct to and from Sydney.  Our vibrant and dynamic second home for boarders provides a healthy and balanced learning and living environment that enhances her growth into a confident, considerate and capable young woman ready for life after school.

Each boarder in Year 6 to 11 has her own living environment; a modern roomette which is a flexible and cosy place that ensures her privacy.  The boarding house configuration of roomettes, spacious common rooms, lounges and kitchens continues to encourage social interaction and the development of lifelong friendships.  Year 12 boarders enjoy the luxury of their own room in a dedicated building complemented by shared lounge spaces, and kitchenettes.

In recognition of the impact increasing school fees are having on the affordability of high quality independent schooling, Glennie has limited the annual boarding fee increase to 2.5% per annum for new and continuing boarding enrolments.  In each subsequent year, any annual boarding fee increase will be capped at this amount for the duration of the boarding enrolment.  Casual, weekly and daily options are available with flexible fee payment arrangements afforded to every Glennie family.  Sibling discounts are also available for tuition and boarding.

Life as a Boarder

Glennie boarding is a vibrant and dynamic experience full of activities and fun. There is the academic and study element of boarding life, but overall Glennie boarders are their own family away from home.  After school and weekend activities are many and varied both within the school and the Toowoomba community.  Every effort is made to ensure a variety of fun and engaging activities are conducted to ensure all boarders are included.

The boarding community has access to the School’s Health Centre staffed by Registered Nurses rostered 24 hours per day in term time, and the School’s female Doctor presently visits three mornings each week.

Lifelong friendships are formed as a boarder at Glennie and this is evident when you witness the support and attendance at Glennie Old Girl reunion functions.
