Tec-NQ is a senior secondary school for students who are interested in trades. It features a trade-based literacy, numeracy curriculum as well as trade competencies.
There are two entry points to the program:
- Tec-Prep in July
- Year 11 in January
The Tec-Prep “Try-Every-Trade” program allows students to take part in one week blocks in each of our core trades. Students currently in Year 10 or higher are eligible to apply. The trade-focused short courses in literacy and numeracy allow students to accrue points towards their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE). Upon completion, students progress to Tec-NQ’s trade-specific Year 11 program.
The Year 11 and 12 program offers intensive employability training and work placement, Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) attainment and competency progression within trade. Click here for a copy of our Prospectus. Students apply for a position in one of Tec-NQ's core trade areas including:

Tec-NQ has a 44 bed accommodation facility. We are proud to offer fully supervised residential care for regional students interested in enrolling in our programs.
