Boarding at Stuartholme... a place where she will be belong.

Stuartholme School is Brisbane’s only Catholic girls Boarding School and provides a specialist boarding experience in the Sacred Heart tradition.

Stuartholme currently takes Boarders from Years 7 to 12 and offers a range of boarding options from daily, weekly, casual and fulltime.

Many of our Boarders are from regional and international locations and their experiences offer richness and cultural diversity to our community. A culture of welcome and kindness is emphasised at Stuartholme and boarders’ learn the life-long skills of communication and respect. Each Boarder calls Stuartholme their home away from home, and together they form and share special bonds where every Boarder refers to each other as ‘friends and sisters’.

Our Boarding staff inspire each girl to do their personal best – to aim for excellence academically and/or vocationally, aim for high level interpersonal skills and to be compassionate and inclusive.

Nestled on 21 hectares of native bushland in the foot-hills of Mount Coot-tha, Stuartholme is ideally situated only six kilometres from Brisbane’s CBD. Ninety-five years ago when Stuartholme School opened its doors, it was a boarding school only. Today Stuartholme caters for both day and boarding students, however the Boarding House is still centrally positioned in the main building to take in panoramic views of the Brisbane skyline. The boarding house has undergone a facelift since the 1920s, and the girls now have an individual space, complete with bed, wardrobe and study nook, which they are encouraged to make their own.

As a Sacred Heart School, Stuartholme has an international reputation for its supportive learning environment. Each individual is encouraged to discover, develop and value her talents, and to be the best she can be.  This is achieved through a balanced, well-rounded educational programme, enhanced by comprehensive care in a comfortable and protective boarding environment.
