St Ursula’s College, Yeppoon, is the only all Girls, Catholic Boarding and Day Secondary College within Central Queensland. We strive to cultivate an environment of belonging, so that each and every member of our community knows they are respected and welcome. Student enrolments of 430 across Years 7-12 equate to Core classes of approximately 20 students to one teacher.
St Ursula’s College is a member of the Alliance of Girls Schools Australasia and, as a specialist in girls only education, has a curriculum tailored to the needs of female adolescents. The absence of gender stereotyping allows for students to develop confidence and seize leadership opportunities. Complemented by an enriching and relevant curriculum; varied pathways; and extensive co-curricular opportunities in sport, cultural and community service areas, the holistic educational experience offered by St Ursula’s College has been designed to enable today’s young women to become tomorrow’s leaders.
The College commenced operation as a Secondary School for girls in 1918, and has a reputation for strong academic outcomes. Passionate and talented staff provide authentic and valid learning experiences for students in a values and faith based environment where each student is encouraged to reach their full potential. The holistic education offered by St Ursula’s incorporates the development of emotional, spiritual and physical well-being, in a welcoming and inclusive College Community.
Enrichment opportunities for students extend beyond the classroom in many fields; Robotics, Mathematics, Debating, Music, Choir, Track and Field, Netball, Touch Football, and Hospitality are co-curricular activities offered by the College with local, regional, state-wide and national competitive opportunities in pursuit of excellence.
Boarding Students are transported to the College, door to door from airport, bus or train terminals in Rockhampton, only a 40 minute drive from Yeppoon. Individualised support and positive encouragement are fundamental principles of Boarding life, with activities and routines similar to a home environment. Sending a child away to school is never an easy decision to make; St Ursula’s College, Yeppoon, strives to ensure this decision is richly rewarded.
