St Brendan’s College is located on 140 hectares of land 40km east of Rockhampton in the township of Yeppoon, Queensland, Australia. The College was established in 1940 to service the educational needs of Catholic boys in local and remote areas of Central Queensland. It now boasts the latest educational technology in both academic and vocational streams to enhance employment and tertiary education opportunities for all types of students from all over the state of Queensland and the Torres Strait Islands. As a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition, St Brendan’s attempts to foster faith development through the living of gospel values, working to develop right relationships, by acting justly and loving tenderly.
The focus of our mission is the formation of youth by working together to develop the whole person and seeking to ensure that each member of the Brendan’s Family is known, loved and respected. The Residential College has a capacity for 340 boys housed across four Residences. The focus, although strongly pastoral, is founded in sound educational and spiritual practices developed specifically for young people. The formation programs are fluid and responsive to the ever-changing needs of the modern teenager while respecting the necessity for strong moral and behavioral standards.
