Nambour Christian College commenced in 1980 and is a Prep to Year 12 school with 1100 students.  NCC offers residential boarding to Senior School students (Year 10-12) who have previously been enrolled at Gulf Christian College.  The boarding program is the culmination of the ‘Beyond Horizons’ Program for Middle School students at Gulf Christian College.  This is a program to prepare young students to gain the skills to transition and progress into living and learning within a boarding school environment.

NCC’s approach to education has three foundations; character development, scholarship and community. Firstly, we partner with parents to develop a student’s character, which we believe will ultimately determine their success in all areas of life. Christian virtues such as compassion, kindness, justice, mercy and humility establish habits which form a good life.

As for scholarship, we understand that the best learning occurs in an environment of high challenge and high care. NCC has a broad curriculum with core learning in literacy and numeracy adjacent to a vast array of specialised subjects. Our formal curriculum develops through recognised stages of the learner, from curious and knowledge-hungry childhood through critical thinking and new skills of adolescence and reasoned arguments and problem solving of young adulthood.

At NCC, community practices are fundamental because we know that everyone’s well-being and resilience is dependent on our connections with others. The school’s pastoral program is broad with staff focused on building positive relationships to assist students’ emotional, social and spiritual growth, allowing students to feel safe to explore new ideas, skills and contributions to the world.

The NCC boarding house allows for a maximum of 2-4 students per bedroom, with supervising staff and extensive indoor and outdoor living areas.  The boarding staff, academic tutors and co-curricular staff will provide experienced and compassionate support for the students in a large family unit where each student will enjoy a real sense of belonging.

The College study, cultural and sporting facilities will be provided for boarders, and these include a fully equipped gymnasium, indoor sports centre, playing fields, library and instrumental music centre.

Boarding students can be involved in a multitude of co-curricular activities including sporting programs, performing arts programs and the College farm.
