Djarragun College is a school with a wonderful and proud history of delivering education to indigenous students from all around the Cape York and greater Cairns area.
The school is located in a semi-rural setting in beautiful Gordonvale just 20 kilometres south of Cairns.
Students attend the school as either day students or boarders. Currently 25 per cent of the student enrolment is made up of girls and boys who board from all over the top end of Australia. The boarding environment provides a rich and interesting program to support the formal learning of the school education program.
The learning programs are delivered using Direct Instruction in Year Prep to Year 9 and a senior curriculum operates in Years 10 to 12, preparing students for tertiary studies or work. A special added extra to our formal school curriculum is the after school program that is run for both day and boarding students and is designed to be culturally enriching to meet the needs and interests of our student body.
