Brisbane Grammar School is a non-denominational school for boys Years 5 to 12. The boarding residence, Harlin House, has been an integral and dynamic part of the School’s landscape since it opened in 1869 and is comprised of young men from rural and regional communities, provincial cities and overseas. Our housemasters are all graduate staff, the majority of them teachers, who focus on supporting the boys through the many personal and academic challenges that are a part of life.
Our aim is that boarding at Brisbane Grammar School will provide boys with a chance to develop both their emotional and intellectual intelligence through their interactions with a diverse range of people and experiences.
The boarders have access to music rooms, a modern resource centre and world class sporting facilities (gym, pool and so much more). Our in-house medical centre is staffed 24/7 and the boys and parents appreciate the professional and caring service the medical team offer. Meals in the boarders dining room are good and plentiful, with the option of boys having early or late meals to fit in with their routines.
Harlin House is a seven day a week boarding house with a full and varied activity program each and every day. Social events with girls schools run each week and most boys stay in at weekends to take advantage of the activities or to catch up on study. The house is a busy, dynamic and happy place to live and work.
