At The Regent’s School Pattaya, supporting our diverse boarding population to achieve – and usually exceed – the academic expectations we have of them is not the result of an education which is narrowly-focused on passing examinations, and we do not select our student body on academic ability. It is certainly true that our students perform very well in examinations – in any given year, the students here achieve grades in the IB which are well-above the global average – but academic success at The Regent’s School Pattaya stems from a fundamental belief in the importance of providing students with a rigorous, all-round education, delivered by highly-qualified teaching staff who have the knowledge, training and experience to monitor and evaluate each child’s progress as he or she moves from Pre-Nursery right through to Year 13.

Furthermore, our Global Citizenship Programme is unique. Developed here in school over the course of more than a decade, we embed global citizenship across the curriculum from Early Years to the Sixth Form. It challenges students of all ages to explore aspects of their personal development, cultural awareness and creativity which are rarely celebrated and measured by more traditional schools.

We see – and so too do parents – the impact that undertaking community service with the Baan Maelid Karen hill tribe has on a student, the influence that a night safari in Khao Yai National Park can have on leadership, personal confidence and team-work, the way that students’ horizons are broadened when they explore issues like internationalism and democracy and the environment, not just in the classroom but outside, amongst the communities of Thailand of which they are a part.
