NUCB International College (NIC) is scheduled to open on the NUCB Campus in September 2022. The school is located within the picturesque Nagoya University of Commerce and Business campus in Nisshin in the outer suburbs of Nagoya, Japan. The school and dormitory buildings are currently under reform or construction and are due for completion in April 2022.
NIC will be a co-educational boarding school for a maximum cohort of 225 students from Years 10-12 and run to the European/North American academic school year (Sept-June). The programme will provide a university matriculation pathway for Japanese returnee and international students wishing to simultaneously obtain the Japanese and the IB DP high school diplomas upon graduation. (The school currently has IB World School 'Candidate' status). The requirements of both diplomas will be met via instruction in English in all subjects, including those required under the Japanese curricular system.
To cater specifically for students on the Australian school calendar who finish Year 9 in December, NIC will also provide a bridging programme with full boarding to run from April to June. This programme will assist students to acclimatise to Japanese culture and study according to Case Method and IB learning approaches.
