St Joseph’s College is an independent Catholic boarding and day college for boys in Years 7-12. Located on a 16-hectare campus just six kilometres from the Sydney CBD, it combines first class facilities with a commitment to exceptional teaching, learning and pastoral care.
Since 1881 the college has provided a faith-based, boarding education for boys from across New South Wales, interstate and overseas. A number of flexible enrolment options, including day student, weekly boarding and full boarding, help fit the many different needs of families. The college maintains its very strong and successful commitment to boarding education and boarders make up just over 50 per cent of total student enrolments.
St Joseph’s provides a broad and well-balanced academic and co-curricular program, as well as a supportive, pastoral environment. Students are given opportunities, resources and encouragement to strive for excellence and achieve their full potential in all they do. All students have their own laptop computer which is utilised across the curriculum to enhance learning.
Families are an important part of the college community and are encouraged to take an active role in their son’s education and the life of the college. Many of the friendships forged amongst parents and families go on to last long after their sons have graduated.
St Joseph’s is a foundation member of the association of Great Public Schools (GPS) and offers a wide range of sports and co-curricular activities. It also has its own outdoor education centre, Colo, located on the Colo River, where boys are challenged to develop resilience, self-belief and skills in both leadership and teamwork.
