Great Southern Grammar is situated on 40 hectares adjacent to Oyster Harbour and provides an outstanding learning environment. The school is located 17km from the centre of the city of Albany, allowing boarders access to all the opportunities that a city provides.

Boarding (Years 7 – 12) at Great Southern Grammar is where students become part of an extended family, living on campus with excellent facilities and enjoying the best a seaside environment can offer.

From 2014, GSG boarding facilities will include four modern, purpose-built, extended family residences on campus and an additional quality, private facility located close to the school which caters for most Year Seven and Year Eight female boarders.

Our central aim is to provide a secure “home away from home” experience, providing boarders with opportunities to develop life-long learning strategies and a degree of independence to serve them well in life beyond school.

House parents live in each residence where they extend genuine family values. Each boarding house features single and/or twin share bedrooms, all with windows and a pleasant rural outlook. Within each residence, boarders enjoy comfortable, spacious living areas and a fully maintained kitchen to allow snacks that supplement set meals.

Tutors provide additional academic support to boarders. Boarding staff provide daily bus transport in and out of Albany to cater for the essential commitments of boarders outside of school.
